Hey yall! Don't you love engagement photos? I'm so excited to share this engagement session with high school sweethearts, Ashley and Jerry. They got engaged in December 2015. I have known Jerry for many years now, he's actually my wife's cousin. This couple has been together for a long time. With two beautiful daughters, they share a bond that can not be broken.
We met up around 4pm at Homewood Park in Homewood, Alabama. It was a beautiful overcast day, which is God's gift to us photographers because the sky turns into a gigantic softbox! The light was beautiful but I decided to add a little off-camera flash to the mix using the Rapid Box from Westcott. I love using this because it's quick, portable, gives soft light and it's made for speedlights.
For the second look, Ashley and Jerry wanted to wear their save the date t-shirts, but there was one problem, we were losing daylight and Jerry forgot the shirts at their home which was about 15-20 miles away! I didn't panic though. As a photographer, you have to be prepared for anything right? Speedlight and street lamps to the rescue!
I hope you enjoy these engagement photos and remember to never stop dreaming!
